Nice accomadation the birdlife was good and the pool area very nice. Liked the free bus service to the town area
Signage could be a little more clearer???? but overall a nice time was had
We are a married couple who had one night on the island before chartering a yacht for 2 weeks with Sunsail. (We travel the world extensively for business.) The stay in the Palm Bungalows was the biggest rip-off we have had in memory. ~$350 for one night - no breakfast included and the accomodation wasn't fit for backpackers - it was something out of the late 70s and is about 15 years overdue for refurbishment. Never again. Regards, Stefan Hendriks and Roslyn Brandon.
The hotel is well placed for visiting the barrier reef, with trips available daily. The hotel is ideal for all water based activities and the island has a range of walks and tracks.
The rooms were not serviced untill late afternoon, usually between 4 pm and 4.30pm.
lovely position of our bungalow right in the lush vegetation, with wild life ,esp . birds, right outside.Beautiful, and relaxing.Would love to visit again Anne
the fact that the bungalows are spaced apart and have all facilities near.
curtains need to be aligned a bit better
well situated, clean & reasonably comfortable. altho' close, functionally well separate visually & noise-wise from neighbours
fairly spartan but functional accommodation.somewhat limited choice of restaurants on the island.
Location, we had a great time on Hamilton Island
we went for a nice walk along the beach and up the hill to the look out.
We were "upgraded" to a hotel room instead of the bungalows having been looking forward to staying in the bungalow itself
We were upgraded to Coral View Hotel, therefore did not stay at Palm Bungalows at all. The ratings above are for Coral View Hotel.
Not a lot really, Location was fairly central.
Its very dated and really needs upgrading, I felt a little dissapointed that it doesnt come close to overseas resorts, dollar for dollar
The bungalows are so great to stay at : I was on my own and felt safe and secure, it had everything I needed to make my stay relaxing. Sitting on the verandah taking in the views, reading while lying in the hammock, and when I wanted a bit of retail therapy it was a casual walk to the Marina. Staff were so helpful when I wanted to book a snorkeling trip - always smiling and pleasant.
I would like to see the shower area updated - its comfortable in the present state but is quite old.
This is a good alternative to staying in a hotel on this paradise island. Located in the narrow isthmus of the island between Catseye Beach and the Marina, almost everything you need is within easy walking distance. Cooked Breakfast is available at 3 possibe locations one of which is right by catseye beach. Free watersports and swimming pools are close by and there is free bus transfer to the island's airport. On the veranda of the chalet bungalow is a hammock and table and 2 chairs and the interior is clean if simply furnished and functional.
If self catering, the cooking facilities are fairly basic. Although breakfast is included in the price, other meals out on the island can be expensive. All the 49 bungalows only have one bedroom which may limit the suitability for families with older children.
Old and tired - very expensive accommodation and food.
Good location on island, central to everything. Good idea to be able to choose between daily housekeeping or $10 voucher. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Poor value for money - certainly didn't get value for the amount we paid. Although basic crockery and cutlery provided, no cooking possible due to no microwave, electric frypan, etc. Test & tag of jug and hairdryer 6 mths out of date. Quality of lighting poor. Quality of bathroom poor. Side garden needs cutting back to allow access to fire hose. Overall disappointed in quality of bungalow. Have said 'no' to question below because of poor value for money.
The location is just perfect, accessible to all basic needs. It also provides privacy to honeymooners and families who stay in Palm bungalows....
